Basant Panchami Puja is a Hindu festival that marks the arrival of spring and is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of wisdom, learning, and arts. It usually falls in January or February. On this day, devotees wear yellow clothes, offer yellow flowers and sweets, and worship Goddess Saraswati by placing books, pens, and musical instruments near her idol or picture. The color yellow symbolizes energy, prosperity, and optimism. People also fly kites and celebrate with joy, marking the beginning of the harvest season in many parts of India.
